Our coaching philosophy
We seek to share our love and knowledge of endurance sports with athletes looking to excel and grow.
We believe that our experiences – years of training, racing, and coaching – bring us unique perspective and knowledge that benefits our athletes in their varied abilities and pursuits.
We want to give back to the endurance community by working with athletes who are committed to challenging themselves, and who seek to perform at their best.
A fully personalized approach
We believe in tailoring our coaching services to meet the individual needs of each of our athletes. We will work with you to create a fully customized plan that fits with your work and personal schedule, and that’s designed to help you achieve your training and racing goals.
To start, you will be matched with one of our coaches based on your discipline, goals, and training preferences. After extensive information-gathering and discussion to get to know you, your coach will design your plan and send it to you 1-3 weeks in advance, giving you time to map out the logistics.
And when life/ illness/ work conflicts happen, your coach is there to help you maximize your time and revise the program as needed along the way as well as providing daily feedback and encouragement on your training.
Become part of a community
In addition to your individualized plan and 1:1 relationship with your coach, each athlete benefits from the camaraderie and encouragement of the larger Biscay Coaching community, which is comprised of all of our coaches and athletes and includes twice-weekly live online chats led by head coach Hillary Biscay.

Head Coach & Founder
Hillary has over 15 years of coaching experience and she raced as a professional ironwoman for a decade. She was the most prolific iron-distance competitor on the professional women’s racing circuit and the 2013 Ultraman World Champion.
One of the winningest women in ironman history, Meredith Kessler has 11x Ironman wins and 23x 70.3 wins to her credit and brings over 15 years of coaching experience to our team. Meredith famously returned to the top step of the podium after giving birth to her first child and loves supporting athletes in their pregnancy and post-partum journeys. Meredith is also an expert at programming indoor training as she built her career in a “pain cave.”
Alyssa started coaching in 2013. She works with triathletes and runners of all abilities and she also loves coaching endurance athletes looking to pursue other types of athletic endeavors such as adventure races, thru-hikes and FKTs. With eight professional top-5 Ironman finishes, as well as three major FKTs under her belt, Alyssa loves preparing athletes for the range of adventures endurance sports has to offer!
Our resident engineer, Amy is our go-to triathlon and run coach for those self-professed “data geeks”. She is also experienced in helping gym-built athletes navigate entry into the world of endurance sports. Amy has completed 37 ironman races including 5 finishes at the Ironman World Championships.
Taryn has been a coach since 2016. She loves working with beginner and intermediate runners and triathletes with a passion to improve their physical and mental fitness in order to achieve their goals in sport and beyond. Taryn has finished over 60 marathons and she has competed in 19 iron-distance triathlons.
A USAT Certified Coach since 2016, Stephanie loves helping endurance athletes find their strengths – mentally and physically – in sport. Stephanie has experience from triathlon to ultra running, and she has a passion for helping others fit sport into balance of a busy life.
